Intragnola park
Explore a century-old park from a private boat
Visit Intragnola Park with us from March to June-November with our local tour guide cruising with our wooden private boat.
The lake stops against the mighty wall of pink granite, and from here begins the garden, extending over 7 hectares with an incomparable panorama of the peaks of the Rosa mountains and the waters of Lake Maggiore.
Initially a grassy pasture serving the Intragnola farmstead, today it is the site of an outstanding collection of exotic conifers, which has been enriched over time, and of which the Taxodium grove is one of the most characteristic elements.
A place rarely open to the public, it deserves a visit not only from botanical enthusiasts, but from anyone who loves the beauty of nature.
An extraordinary collection of conifers Lake Maggiore is surrounded by centuries-old a magnificent parks and gardens, which tell us the history of botanical collecting, the love of nature, the elegance of ancient and noble families.
But this is a unique opportunity to witness in person the birth of these gardens, and a rare chance to meet and talk with the people who shaped and designed these places. They projected their dreams into the future envisioning how the small, young specimens of plants would one day transform the gardens with their monumental stature.
Here, in the Intragnola park in Cerro di Laveno-Mombello, we are given this opportunity, Starting with a small nucleus of plants from the early 20th century, the current owner has dream up an extraordinary botanical park that he is building with love, respect and great passion. The young specimens of conifers, rare in the area and difficult to see in local gardens, have already transformed the large space, once a pasture for livestock, into an impressive collection. It can be admired in all seasons of the year for its colours and its breathtaking view of the Piedmont shore of Lake Maggiore.
Late autumn shows off the rust red of Taxodium soaking in water, spring delights with the soft colours of azaleas at the entrance, and summer basks with the sumptuous flowering of Lagerstroemia.
Avisit not to be missed to admire rare conifers in an extraordinary landscape setting. A rich Farm to Table buffet will be offered after the visit.
We love to work with small groups of maximum 10 people so we are able to stay focused on you.
You will taste the portions of Gnocchi you made during the workshop and the recipes of the Italian cooking workshop afterwards so you can enjoy the true Italy at home, whenever you want!
At the end of the workshop you will taste a typical Farm To Table lunch.
