Believe in your dreams! It may just sound like a nice phrase we use to give ourselves courage, but sometimes it happens that passion, vision, and work give the desired results. Dreams really do come true!

In Premosello, a small village in the Val Grande Park bathed by the Toce River, the dream of two local families, expert growers of flowering camellias, has become a splendid reality: the most important tea cultivation in Italy, which can now be visited in its splendid natural setting, surrounded by the peaks of the Piedmontese Alps.

Meet your guide and drive to Premosello (a driving service may be provided), at the foothills of the Alps (45 mn driving distance from our Lake Maggiore).

Here we wil join Alessandro, the passionate owner of the largest tea plantation in continental Europe. Born in a family of Camellia growers, Alessandro has specialized in cultivating plants of Camellia Sinensis, which leaves are giving the tea.

You’ll learn about the propagation of the plants, the harvesting of the leaves, the process of drying and fermentation that produces the different kinds of tea.

The visit lasts about one hour and a half.

At the end of the visit, you’ll be transferred to Mergozzo, a tiny and charming village which names the small lake on which it lays.

Here you’ll visit one of the oldest bakeries of the area, where the traditional and delicious biscuits called Fugascina are still baked.

You’ll taste this sweet cookies sipping a cup of the tea produced by Alessandro.

A typical lake Trattoria restaurant lunch may be booked (at cost price) as an option.

We will drive you back to your accommodations at the end of this charming experience.
