On the eastern shore of enchanting Lake Orta, in the tiny village of Vacciaghetto di Ameno, lies Casa Lorella, a historical residence whose origins date back to the early 16005. The property is surrounded by 2.5 hectares of land that was originally cultivated to support the entire village and later, over the centuries, transformed into the botanical marvel it is today.

Thanks to the enormous work undertaken by the owners over the past few years, the park has taken the form of an English-style landscape garden adorned with monumental trees, including oaks, Cedrus deodara, green and red leaf beeches, magnolias, mimosas and various conifers, such as Thuja and Chamaecyparis, as wel as rhododendrons, camellias, azaleas and various species of hydrangeas.

The elegant Marian church houses a wonderful and rare cycle of neoclassical frescoes painted in the early 19th century by the Lombard artist Agostino.
